4. The Last Scenario.

As well as Modern Architecture, from Post Modern to Deconstruction all grown up with the support of educational institutions. Deconstruction developed because of AA (Architectural Association) which controlled the journals of architecture in England. Similarly, modern architecture evolved because of Bauhaus institution and De Stijl magazine developed in Europe. In fact, the support undertaken at the Bauhaus seeking ideological foundations that caused its closure by Hitler for being leftist and the teachers fled Germany. Aesthetics is trust to be derived from ideological concepts. Even Constructivists in the Soviet Union went further by trying to eliminate the city center and leveling activities to rural areas. Stalin looked at this movement with suspicion and forbid it. 7)

Architecture is a practical political science, architects are no different from a practical politician who in fact have to escape from their clients provocation.8) Although the architects involved in the physical order but they can not be separated from the ideology itself. Remember Le Corbusier ever accused to the left-leaning and have to defend themselves by saying that "I am not a politician but an architect".9) In that ideology architectural theory find its basic so it was not just struggling with square or round forms but ideological meaning behind the form.

In Indonesia, there has never been an art movement that is prohibited, except for banning the publication of the works of art from an artist who despised the government. Similarly, the ban of rock and roll music in the days of the old regime (1945-1966) as feelings against Western imperialism, but not because of the art movement like Bauhaus in the Age of Hitler or constructivist in the era of Stalin. This shows that the theory of art in Indonesia is still on the surface, in a form that can be caught by senses like the tone of rock 'n roll in the ears or the name of Pramoedya Ananta Toer on the front page of a book. Art theory has not yet in the philosophy or rationale behind the form that caught the senses. Theory of architecture in Indonesia halted at limited style and has not reached the basic ideology like Bauhaus architects with buildings, painting and design of its products that were full with ideology. An artist whose work is based on a very militant ideology will retain his or her ideology and not follow the tastes of the people, because the ideology becomes directives, or "God" of the works produced. By contrast, in Indonesia, the art becomes the tastes of consumers, architects and other artists follow the public taste. Architecture in new towns such as real estate in Jakarta, “kota wisata” in Sentul etc. is the reality that the art is constituted by marketing, public taste that was followed. Is it true that the public likes such architecture? There has never been a proven research in addition to the fact that if the occupants had no other choice, they are people who lack knowledge of art itself. If ideology is "God" for the architecture, then in Indonesia architecture becomes very atheist.
